On Saturday December 6th join others from Hampton Roads at The Tide is Turning: Climate Action In Hampton Roads…a free workshop!
REGISTRATION REQUIRED but Attendance is FREE!
The purpose of this event is threefold:
1. To identify and connect active Hampton Roads climate leaders and groups, 2. To give an overview of the basic science of climate change and what is happening in Hampton Roads to address it 3. To help folks be more effective activists in their communities.
Training Topics Include:
–Climate Change 101: The Basics
–Debunking Myths and Climate Change Deniers
–The EPA Clean Power Plan and You
–Story of Self: Tell your story, build the movement
–Social Media Strategies for Climate Action
The event will be held at Hampton University Marine Science Conference Center, room 104 from 8:30-4pm. We’ll provide a light breakfast and a lunch for folks as well as snacks throughout the day. Once you register we’ll follow up with you with more specific logistical details closer to the date of the workshop.
