New Virginia Majority Endorses Christian Dorsey for Arlington County Board
Alexandria, VA—New Virginia Majority endorses candidate Christian Dorsey for the Arlington County Board.
“We are delighted to support Christian Dorsey as he offers forward looking ideas to address critical needs for affordable housing, inclusive economic growth and participatory democracy. We will be reaching out to 500 voters of color who seldom participate in primaries in order to grow the electorate,” said Jon Liss, Co-Executive Director of New Virginia Majority (NVM) and Executive Director of Tenants and Workers United (TWU).
Citing Dorsey’s commitment to expanding civic engagement outreach among Arlington’s culturally rich and diverse communities; his intelligent and aggressive ideas on affordable housing and support for revitalization of Columbia Pike; we see Dorsey as a promising voice, unafraid to push for ideas that allow for a shift in the way we look at communities, growth and opportunity.
“Smart policy thinkers already realize that it’s no longer simply about growth and expansion, but more about growth, sustainability and equity,” said Liss. ” added Liss.
“This endorsement is important and valued,” said Dorsey. “The work done at NVM speaks volumes in terms of their commitment to expanding the electorate by engaging voters who often sit out local elections. My campaign is all about connecting progressive values to local policies,” said Dorsey.
